Dry Roasted Cashews

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008 in Health, Products

Our roasted cashews are fantastic and us nuts can’t help from snacking on them. My dad is the worst culprit in this department. We decided to spice things up though and start dry roasting cashews as well. Uhoh! What’s that dad? I can’t hear you with your mouth full of our new dry roasted cashews. Check ‘em out, both salted and unsalted.

Super duper JUMBO Virginia Peanuts

Thursday, February 21st, 2008 in Products

We’re proud of our nuts. Of course we are! :-) Peanuts might not be nuts (they’re legumes!), but at NutsOnline we’ve been all about peanuts since 1929. We still even have our peanut roaster that my grandfather used over 70 years ago! So, yeah, we certainly take pride in our peanuts. And our peanuts in the shell are definitely worth taking pride in, as they are tremendous, literally graded as Super Jumbo, and delicious!!! Ok, so what am I getting at? Well, this might have taken us years and years to finally come around to, but we are now offering roasted shelled super jumbo Virginia peanuts, both salted and unsalted.

marzipan + dark chocolate = amazingly delish

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008 in Products

I’m sure you’ve heard of or seen marzipan before. A delicate combination of almonds and sugar dating back to medieval times, you’ll often find it as icing on cakes or in the shape of fruit confections. Marzipan on its own is wonderful, with its unique taste, but we didn’t want to stop there. Throw in a little dark chocolate and you’ll be in heaven with dark chocolate covered marzipan.

Brazil nuts to the rescue

Monday, February 18th, 2008 in Health

A study published in this month’s American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that consuming only two Brazil nuts every day can raise blood selenium levels by about 65 per cent.
Selenium is understood to boost the body’s antioxidant immune system and may deliver health benefits including reduced risk of some types of cancer and cardiovascular disease and promotion of normal liver function.

In 2003 the FDA issued a qualified health claim on selenium, which states: “Selenium may reduce the risk of certain cancers. Some scientific evidence suggests that consumption of selenium may reduce the risk of certain forms of cancer. However, FDA has determined that this evidence is limited and not conclusive.”

Yay Brazil Nuts!
